
SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): Partner institutions began work on 47 public welfare projects at a cost of nearly 34 million US dollars in northern Sar-i-Pul province last year, completing schemes worth more than seven million dollars Governor’s spokesman Maulvi Habibullah Masrour told Pajhwok Afghan News about 47 public benefit projects worth 33.96 million dollars were launched by partner institutions in past one year. He said some of these projects had been implemented at a cost of $7.
19 million and the rest were under construction. The completed projects were related to agriculture, irrigation, health and education sectors besides drinking water networks, employment for women, food aid, and distribution of cash to deserving families, he explained. According to him, these projects provided a suitable learning environment for children, access to drinking water, jobs and suitable agricultural opportunities.
Masrour asked partner institutions to provide better services to people in remote areas by implementing more projects. The spokesman assured they would provide necessary facilities for partner institutions so that they could provide services with greater confidence. “We are happy with the work of institutions for people, and a water supply network has been built for us and food has been distributed.
We ask the government and institutions to focus more on creating factories and creating jobs so that people could earn their own income,”:Samiullah, a resident of Sancharak district explained. Qayum, a resident of Sar-e-Pul city, also welcomed the implementation of these projects, saying that more and larger projects should be implemented in the province. hz/ma.
