A professional cleaner has spilled the beans on the cleaning products she reckons aren't worth your hard-earned cash. Alyssa Armstrong, who goes by @alyssascleaningcompany on social media, is no stranger to scrubbing and dusting after launching her own deep cleaning business in Michigan, USA. On TikTok, she dishes out nifty cleaning hacks and reviews to her whopping 580,000 followers, always keen to test out the latest products to hit the shelves.

In a recent video, she's called out four items that she wouldn't waste her money on, claiming they don't live up to the task or are too pricey for what they offer. She added a note of caution with her caption: "Buy what y'all want, this is just my opinion." The first product Alyssa warned against is Windex, slamming it as "[It's] not the best glass cleaner and it's not ammonia free.

" Although she held up a bottle of the blue stuff, it's worth mentioning that Windex does offer an ammonia-free option, which comes in a purple bottle. Next, she grabbed a pack of Mr Clean's Magic Erasers, those handy sponges meant for all sorts of household chores like sprucing up bathtubs, walls, or light switches. Her verdict? They're "way too expensive" and "break in like five seconds.

" But she didn't leave her viewers hanging; she suggested going for the Scrub Daddy Eraser instead, boasting: "[it] does the same thing but last longer, and is a scrubber side!" Brandishing the company's iconic yellow and green sponge, she continued: "These are not cute like Scrub Daddy ones, and these stink after one use. My Scrub Daddies have never stunk." Scrub Daddy sponges, which come in a variety of colours and feature a smiley face, can be purchased on Amazon for £14 for a large pack.

The professional cleaner also expressed her dislike for Bona Hardwood Floor Polish, stating: "It leaves a film, it's very expensive, and I don't care that your hardwood floor person recommended it, don't use it." When contacted by the New York Post, Leah Bradley, senior brand manager at Bona, defended the product, saying: "It is intended for use a few times a year, not as a regular floor cleaning product." With the product retailing at around $15 (£13), Leah explained: "It is a protective polish that renews hardwood and hard-surface floors by filling in micro scratches and scuffs, shielding against future wear and traffic, and adding a durable shine.

If the product is streaking, it can mean that there is an existing film on the floor (sometimes left behind by oil-based cleaning products), which can be removed by first cleaning with our Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Cleaner." Responding to her video, one viewer agreed: "You are 100 percent correct on everything" while another concurred: "As a cleaner, I have to agree." A woman with nearly 30 years of experience cleaning homes chimed in: "Been cleaning homes for almost 30 years, I 100 per cent agree on all of these!" However, some people defended the household products and swore by them.

One user raved: "I love Bona cleaner for my hardwood." Another chimed in with their go-to solution, saying: "Vinegar and water solution and newspaper is the absolute best glass cleaner. Mr Clean sheets are amazing and take crayons and markers off anything," another user added.
