Samoa Joe looks to be in Deadlock. With Deadlock still not being properly revealed by Valve, there isn’t much in the way of lore or info on each of the charters in the game. But after a tease on social media, it looks like we know the voice actor for Abrams; pro wrestler Samoa Joe.

Some fans had speculated that Samoa Joe, who is becoming something of a regular face in the world of video games, was the voice of Abrams, but until recently there was no confirmation that this was the case. However, yesterday Joe tweeted an image of Abrams, seemingly confirming that he is indeed the voice of the character. Of course, he doesn’t outright say that he is the voice of the character, so he could just be trolling or be a big fan of Abrams, but given the similarities between Abrams’ voice and Joe’s it would be a massive surprise if this turned out to not be him.

While there isn’t a ton of voice lines in Deadlock yet, the ones we do have for Abrams sound very much like Joe, and are generally pretty good. Adding further fuel to the fire is that Joe has previously worked for Valve before, voicing the Juggernaut arcana item in Dota 2 . With many fans thinking that Valve has got voice actors they have worked with before to do a lot of the voices in Deadlock , this further adds weight to the idea that Joe is Abrams.

Gamers who watched the Twisted Metal show will have seen him as the body actor for Sweet Tooth, although he did not voice that character, and he also played King Shark in the ill-fated Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game. Just this week, it was also announced that Samoa Joe would be a part of the upcoming Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii game, with a surprisingly realistic in game model of him being shown in the most recent trailer.

Although his exact role is yet to be revealed, he is expected to be one of the antagonists in the game, which is a role Joe seems to thrive in both in the ring and in his acting career. In the world of wrestling, Joe is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, and was the company’s world champion as recently as April this year. He hasn’t wrestled since July, reportedly taking a break to film season two of the Twisted Metal show.

However, as one of the greatest of all time, he will likely be back at the top of the AEW card when he returns..
