PRIVATE Harry will contest the world's richest race on turf. Login or signup to continue reading The unbeaten colt has been locked in for this year's Everest (1200 metres), taking the Yulong Investments slot following a lucrative sale announced over the weekend. Newcastle's Nathan Doyle continues training the three-year-old, which now heads to the paddock for a spell before preparing for the $20 million event at Randwick on October 18.

Private Harry, with five wins from as many starts, most recently claimed the group 1 Galaxy and only debuted around five months ago. Hunter Valley-based owners Kurrinda Bloodstock confirmed news of the sale and Everest. "We can confirm that Yulong Investments have purchased 50 percent of our exciting colt Private Harry," Kurrinda revealed via social media.

"Private Harry will continue to be trained by Doyle Racing and we are also excited to announce that he has gained a slot in this year's The Everest. "We are very pleased to be in partnership with Yulong Investments and are thrilled that Private Harry has secured himself a spot in their stallion roster in years to come." Kurrinda followed up with another announcement on Monday, saying that Private Harry would now miss this coming weekend's group 1 TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.

"Private Harry will return home today to Kurrinda Bloodstock's farm in the Hunter Valley for a well-deserved spell," the Kurrinda statement read. "Private Harry is a very exciting, undefeated colt. What he has achieved so far is outstanding and it needs to be remembered that his first start was only in November, 2024.

"Whilst running Private Harry in TJ Smith Stakes (2025) is tempting, we feel he will benefit greatly from the opportunity to rest in anticipation of the spring carnival, and ultimately, the 2025 TAB Everest." Private Harry has already collected close to $2million in prizemoney. Ashley Morgan has been the jockey on board for all races.
