PHILADELPHIA — What was all that about drama free? The Princeton Tigers are back to being a heart attack on the hardwood. Jackson Hicke sank two free throws with 0.6 seconds left and Princeton survived — barely — a spirited effort from shorthanded Penn to win, 61-59, at the Palestra on Friday night.

This marked the seventh time the Tigers (16-6, 5-2) have won with the go-ahead points coming in the final 15 seconds. It also extended their winning streak over the arch rival Quakers (6-17, 2-5) to a series-long 12 straight games and pulled them within one of equaling the all-time series record for the first time since it was 3-all in 1905. “Part of it is we’ve been in a lot of games like this and won a lot of close games,” said Hicke, who finished with 11 points.

“We’ve been here before and we expect to win. We’ve probably been in this game more than Penn has and we just gutted it out, especially on the road. Ideally, we get a couple more like Brown where it’s no seat at the end, but we’ll take as many as we can get.
