Republican President-elect Donald Trump hit the ground running by warning Russian President Vladimir Putin during a Thursday phone call to not escalate the war in Ukraine. Trump, who promised to immediately end the war in Ukraine once elected, discussed the goal of peace in the region and indicated interest in follow-up conversations about “the resolution of Ukraine’s war soon,” sources familiar with the call the president-elect took from his Florida resort said, according to The Washington Post.
