Esther Langeliers had 15 kills, five blocks, two digs and an ace as the La Center volleyball team beat King’s Way Christian 3-0 to capture its third consecutive Trico League championship on Thursday. The set scores were 25-13, 25-21 and 25-21. Billie Ross added 10 kills, eight digs, one block and one ace for the Wildcats, while Bailey Espana added 11 assists, seven digs, four blocks, two kills and two aces.

Quinn Erickson had 17 assists and six digs. Girls soccer Jessica Barrett, Lilah Chase and CJ Moore scored goals as the Seton Catholic girls soccer team beat Fort Vancouver 3-1 to compete the Cougars’ first undefeated regular season in school history. The Cougars head to the district playoffs with a 16-0 record.



3A boys tennis Prairie’s Micah Nelson finished as runner-up at the 3A bi-district tournament in Kent on Thursday, while Mountain View’s doubles team of Jackson Taylor and Owen Kendrick placed sixth. Both results qualified those three 3A District 4 champs berths to the state tournament in May at Vancouver Tennis Center. The top seven placers in singles and doubles advanced to state.

After winning his quarterfinal on Wednesday in comeback fashion with a third-set super tiebreaker, Nelson started Thursday with a semifinal win over Jayden Low of Auburn Mountainview 6-0, 6-2. Nelson then lost in the final to Herky Briggs of Bellarmine 6-2, 6-0. Taylor and Kendrick needed three sets to stay alive Wednesday, outlasting Noah Nuttle and Nick Harris of Enumclaw 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), 10-8 super tiebreaker.

Then on Thursday, Taylor and Kendrick clinched their state berth with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Colin Nelson and Chase Horrocks of Gig Harbor. The Mountain View team lost in the fifth-place match to Thomas Holden and Andrew Hyun of Federal Way 6-4, 6-1. The 4A boys bi-district tournament is Friday and Saturday at Kent.

Stars of the day Bailey Lim, Camas volleyball, had 28 assists, three aces and one dig as the Papermakers beat Union. Maddie Milhorn, Skyview volleyball, had 13 kills and five digs as the Storm beat Battle Ground. Aly Ordona, Seton Catholic volleyball , had nine digs, seven kills, six aces and three assists in a 3-0 win over Fort Vancouver.
