NORTH AUGUSTA 37, GILBERT 14 North Augusta improved to 2-0 in Region 4-AAAA play with a 37-14 road win at Gilbert. Corey Tillman went 17-for-27 passing for 160 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 79 yards and another score on nine carries, Michael Doe ran for 82 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries, and Nick Grant caught three passes for 42 yards and a score for the Yellow Jackets (4-1 overall). Jacob DeGennaro made a 27-yard field goal, and Ty Burke and Javon Ryans each intercepted a pass.

Up next for North Augusta is a home game Friday against 10th-ranked Gray Collegiate Academy. AIRPORT 34, AIKEN 16 Aiken dropped to 0-4 with a 34-16 loss to Airport on Friday to begin Region 4-AAAA play. The Hornets were within 13-8 at the half and 20-16 through three quarters before the Eagles pulled away in the fourth.



Up next for Aiken is a home game Friday against Gilbert. GRAY COLLEGIATE 26, MIDLAND VALLEY 21 Midland Valley came up just short in a back-and-forth affair Friday at Class AAAA No. 10 Gray Collegiate, falling 26-21 in the Region 4-AAAA opener.

The Mustangs (0-4 overall) host Brookland-Cayce next week. BROOKLAND-CAYCE 34, SOUTH AIKEN 27 South Aiken fell to 0-2 in Region 4-AAAA play with a loss Friday at Brookland-Cayce. The T-Breds (2-3, 0-2) trailed 20-14 at halftime and 34-20 through three quarters before a potential rally in the fourth came up short.

South Aiken will be at home next Friday against Airport. FOX CREEK 47, JOSEY 6 Fox Creek made quick work of Josey, surging to a 40-6 halftime lead en route to a 47-6 win to move the Predators to 3-1 to start the season. Devonta Holmes returned a kickoff for a touchdown and caught another score from Nathan Owens, Jayden Bledsoe had a 62-yard touchdown run and returned a punt for a touchdown, Owens and Mekhi Quiller each had touchdown runs, and Chartavious Weaver returned an interception for a touchdown.

Up next for Fox Creek is a home game Friday against Williston-Elko. LINCOLN COUNTY 41, SILVER BLUFF 15 Silver Bluff remained winless after dropping a road game across the Savannah River against Lincoln County. The Bulldogs (0-5) will try again for their first win next Friday at home against rival Barnwell.

BARNWELL 14, SWANSEA 7 Barnwell bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to South Aiken, handing Swansea its first loss of the season in the process. The Warhorses (4-1), the sixth-ranked team in Class AA, rode a pair of Cameron Austin touchdown runs and a strong defensive effort to get past the Class AAA No. 9 Tigers.

Barnwell returns to action next Friday at rival Silver Bluff. RIDGE SPRING-MONETTA 21, EAU CLAIRE 8 Ridge Spring-Monetta picked up its second consecutive win, going on the road to beat Eau Claire 21-8. Jaiden Holloway, making his second start at quarterback, rushed for more than 200 yards to lead the Trojans (2-2).
