An access track is also being considered, connecting an existing track to the east of the site which leads to Woodcutter Lane and Main Road at the edge of the village.

The solar panels would generate electricity during daylight hours, and fed into the local distribution network for use in homes and businesses. The connection would be via an underground Advertisement Advertisement cable via a substation connecting to a separately proposed solar and battery storage site, on land to the west which falls under Rugby Borough Council. According to the application, the nearest home is 220 metres north of the proposed site.

The applicant says intervening distance, roads and existing natural vegetation will create natural screening and believes the proposal will not have ‘significant visual impact’ to surrounding homes Advertisement Advertisement and businesses. Any noise impacts are anticipated to be ‘very low level’. It is not known when the district council is expected to respond but the applicant does not believe the plans require an EIA, despite the site exceeding 0.
