Prayagraj police arrest two for vandalism and attempt to disrupt uppsc exams protest

Two men, Abhishek Shukla and Raghvendra Yadav, were arrested in Prayagraj for damaging property and attempting to incite peaceful protesters outside the UPPSC building. Police claim the men damaged an advertising board, mobile police barriers, and attempted to disrupt the ongoing UPPSC exams. Yadav has a criminal history with 18 cases registered against him.

Representative image PRAYAGRAJ: Cops on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two miscreants identified as Abhishek Shukla and Raghvendra Yadav on the charges of damaging a private coaching institute's advertising board and mobile police barriers. Cops also alleged that these miscreants had also made a futile attempt to instigate scores of aspirants protesting peacefully against UPPSC’s resolution to hold PCS (pre) and RO/ARO examinations across two days. Both the miscreants were also booked under section 132, 324 (2), 121 (1), 223, 191 (2), 191 (3), 190, and 49 of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and sections 3 and 5 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act with Civil Lines police station.

Police outpost in-charge (UPPSC) SI Krishna Murari Chaurasia, in his FIR lodged against both the miscreants, claimed that he, along with fellow policemen, was on duty when cops noticed some unwanted elements not only damaged the advertising board of a private coaching institute near Gate No. 2 and mobile police barriers but also made an abortive bid to instigate aspirants holding a peaceful protest. The SI also alleged that both the miscreants created noisy scenes outside the commission buildings with the intention to disturb the working atmosphere of the commission and pose a hindrance to govt work.



Cops, however, said that Raghvendra Yadav had a criminal sketch, and as many as 18 criminal cases were registered against him in different police stations of the city. DCP (City) Abhishek Bharti confirmed to TOI that two miscreants were arrested by cops on the charges of creating a ruckus during the peaceful protest by the aspirants and also making a futile bid to instigate aspirants..
