KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), an urban transport entity, has removed a controversial advertisement and is tightening its review process to prevent future visuals from sparking public backlash.Recently, an activist questioned Prasarana over an advertisement on its fleet. The activist claimed the advertisement openly displayed racial and religious discrimination.
The advertisement was displayed on one of Rapid KL's trains.However, following public complaints, the advertisement has been taken down from trains on the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line, Prasarana said in a statement."Immediate steps have been taken to strengthen the screening process for all future ad visuals to avoid similar concerns," it said.
Prasarana said it values public feedback, especially when content may be misinterpreted as targeting specific individuals or groups."We appreciate the continued support and concern from the public regarding the use of public transport."© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
