A new play set in the 1970s will be performed across Bolton. Power Cut, written by members Josie Byrne and Lynda Gray, and directed by Martin Green, is the latest offering from the On The Go Theatre Company. The plot revolves around women from a local community who, fed up with surviving on little money during a prolonged strike, decide to take matters into their own hands and apply for jobs in a new local restaurant.

Steeped in the historical context of power cuts, three-day weeks, and widespread strikes, the play promises a mix of drama and comedy as the women navigate their new roles in the restaurant, dealing with everything from waitressing and bar work to a troublesome chef.
