MARDAN - Chairman of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan, Prof Jehanzeb Khan, has said that efforts are being made to reform the board’s examination system, which is facing opposition from a powerful mafia. He expressed these views while speaking to journalists. He clarified that he has no personal agenda and is solely focused on bringing reforms to the examination system.

He stated that after discontinuing the use of private school halls and not catering to the vested interests of certain individuals in the current examination process, a powerful group began criticizing him on social media. Prof Jehanzeb emphasized that despite these challenges, he will continue his efforts. He added that he has clearly informed examination duty officials that those on duty at any centre where a paper leak occurs will be held accountable and will not escape punishment.

He stressed that all students are equal, everyone will be treated the same, and no one will be allowed to cheat. Sindh lawyers boycott courts over Indus canal project He further said that the Chief Minister, Education Minister, Secretary of Education, and other officials are supportive of the reforms and are fully backing him in this initiative. He mentioned that teachers who teach a particular subject will now be responsible for checking the respective papers.

He noted that millions of rupees were previously spent on open inspections, which proved ineffective; therefore, the practice has been discontinued. He also mentioned that examination duties at choice centers have been stopped. A list of teachers for examination duties has been requested from the District Education Officers, as well as from the Provincial Directorate.
