Powerful exhibition to take place at Bobby's in Bournemouth

For the second year, BCP Council along with Soroptimist International Bournemouth are coordinating a programme of events throughout the 16 days of activism. The exhibition will be held at Bobby’s in the town centre take place between November 30 and December 7. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of domestic abuse and promote support services that are available to everyone, regardless of gender or sexuality.

Soroptimist International Bournemouth organised an exhibition is 2023 with art works produced by the students at the Arts University Bournemouth. Students have been invited to produce a piece of artwork related to the theme of gender-based violence and highlighting the colour orange. Orange has been chosen as the campaign declares the 25th of each month as ‘orange day’ to raise awareness and take action to end violence against women and girls.



Members of the public will be asked to vote for the three most impactful pieces. BCP Council is providing funds for monetary prizes for the top three choices. A Soroptimist International Bournemouth spokesperson said: “More than 350 people attended last year and the feedback was impressive- thought provoking, profound and fascinating.
