The Powerball jackpot for Monday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $55 million with a cash option of $25.7 million. The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.
m. and televised on WABC-7 in New York City and Fox 29 in Philadelphia. NJ.
com will publish the winning numbers immediately following the conclusion of the drawing. While no one across the country hit Saturday’s $48 million jackpot, a second-prize, $1 million ticket was sold in Massachusetts. In New Jersey, a pair of third-prize tickets worth $50,000 each were bought in the northwestern part of the state.
One was bought at QuickChek on Route 23 south in Wantage, Sussex County, the other at the Shell gas station on Memorial Parkway in Phillipsburg, Warren County. Both third-prize tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball. Saturday’s winning numbers were: 12, 17, 23, 52 and 67 .
The Powerball drawn was 1 , with a Power Play of 2X . In addition, no one nationally won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 12, 16, 36, 55 and 64 .
The Double Play number drawn was 3 . The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
