Boss Scott Porter denied there are easier games than others during their season run-in as Lordswood aim to pull off a great escape. The Lords breathed new life into their Premier Division survival bid, beating Glebe 2-1 last weekend to earn a first win since Porter took charge. Lordswood will host Kennington - a side who have all-but secured their Step 5 status for another campaign - this weekend, having been due to visit mid-table Sutton Athletic tonight.

But Porter, whose side are six points behind 18th-placed Lydd with two league fixtures in hand, said: “They’re all tough now. “It doesn’t matter who you’re playing. Every game is going to be massive and like our cup final.

“Whitstable are in the FA Vase final and credit to them, and we have them at home next Thursday. “Faversham look like they’re winning the league - credit to them - but maybe we’re playing them at the right time. “I just worry about what we’re doing.

We have just got to take each game as it comes. “No one turns up on a Saturday and rolls over so we’ll just worry about ourselves and what we do. “If we play to our standards, we have got a chance.

” Lordswood’s victory over Glebe was just the seventh in the league this term. “The players worked their socks off,” Porter reflected. “We spoke to them in depth after training last Tuesday, and we got rid of a few and brought some in to change things up.

“That came off on Saturday. It was a massive win. “There was a good atmosphere in the changing room.

No disrespect, they have not had a lot of them (victories) this season! “The Fisher game was always going to be tough because we didn’t have a lot of time with them but, on Saturday, I couldn’t fault them. “Every one of them was faultless and we got our rewards.” Lords’ goals came in the first half from Tunde Aderonmu and defender George Miles to leave a second-half own goal in vain at Martyn Grove.

Porter said: “We wanted to get at them early doors - and we did that. “Maybe, we could have got a third before half-time and 2-0 is always a difficult scoreline. “We wanted to keep that positivity going into the second half.

Tom Crump, the keeper, didn’t really have a save to make. “They went gung-ho at the end, put bodies up front, but we held on comfortably enough and managed to get the three points.” While forwards Jake Embery and top scorer Elliott Duncan have left for rivals Hollands & Blair and Isthmian South East side Erith Town, respectively, the Lords have plenty of firepower.

They have added striker Lekan Osideko to their ranks alongside attacking midfielder Josh Oliver and Aderonmu. “I don’t single out any individuals, but we have got quality in the squad,” noted Porter. “It showed on Saturday in terms of how good we were, with and without the ball.
