Reports of two hoodie-clad individuals recently peering into parked vehicles prompted local law enforcement to investigate the scene at Brickyard Plantation and arrest the pair for petit larceny. The Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) combined with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) to reportedly investigate a package robbery during the early morning hours of Oct. 29.
When initially approached by responding officers, the suspects, described as two Black males (Tyree Williams and Shawn Seabrook), denied any wrongdoing and claimed to be headed to their Rifle Range Road residence. When they were later located in the Hamlin Park neighborhood, they claimed to be on their way to a friend's — but couldn't identify which house they lived in. Shortly after, the same duo was pulled over by the CCSO in a stolen Kia Sportage on Chrismill Lane.
Inside the vehicle was a package containing two pairs of shorts valued at $40 and a pair of $20 khakis. Williams reportedly assumed responsibility for the theft. When making contact with the crime victim, the homeowner turned over his Ring footage, which confirmed that both Williams and Seabrook were at the scene.
In one clip, the two were observed squatting near their SUV. The property owner communicated his wish to press charges, as both alleged lawbreakers were brought into custody. Editor's Note: The Moultrie News has also requested an incident report from the CCSO.
