The “Insidious Live Show” shut down following terrible reviews of their January tour stop in Detroit. Hundreds of people flooded social media with complaints, saying the popular immersive horror show at Detroit’s Fisher Theatre did not end up being the experience that was advertised. Detroit was only the fourth stop of the tour, but the negative reviews from ticket holders forced the cancelation of the remaining 66 stops.
Paying customers expressed feeling disappointed and confused by what they saw after the show’s website promised “a live, in-seat immersive experience that plunges audiences into the terrifying world of the Insidious film franchise.” “It was promoted to be ‘edge of your seat,’ but people were actually leaving their seats,” Mark Ramos told Click On Detroit. Jill Hamilion-Krawczyck told WXYZ News that she attended the Jan.
25 premiere and said she and her sister each paid $70 a ticket. “It was kind of a letdown,” Hamiliton-Krawczyck said. “We were surprised when we sat down, and there was no set.
It just wasn’t at all what it was advertised as,” she continued. As the world’s biggest Insidious fan, I couldn’t have been more excited for Insidious Live: The Further You Fear but unfortunately, I have to tell you all to never go to this if it comes to your city. It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life 🫠 pic.

Everyone was just as confused as I was,” he said. “I wouldn’t even call it a parody because a parody would infer it’s funny,” he told Click On Detroit. The website for the show described the performance as “the scare of a lifetime, as the world of Insidious jumps off the screen and into your theater seat,” but Sides disagreed.
“Basically the only immersive part through the entire engagement was five volunteers who went up on stage. They were put in white jumpsuits and it became painfully apparent they were all plants,” he said. “And it’s, like, where’s the engagement? Where’s the immersive experience? Why advertise it as that if they’re not going to try?” A post shared by ATOMIC MONSTER (@theatomicmonster) “When I walked out of the theater, it wasn’t even a sense of anger.
