A popular Manchester bakery has announced it will be selling chocolate moustaches this month, to raise money for the Movember campaign. Half Dozen Other, located on Red Bank behind Victoria station, opened in 2017 and has ever since acquired something of a cult following for their sourdough bread, pastries and cakes. Now, they will be selling edible handmade moustaches for a £3 donation, that will go towards Movember.
The annual campaign, now in its 21st year, encourages men to grow moustaches for the month of November, to raise awareness of men's health issues including testicular and prostate cancer and male suicide. Another baker, Jordan Porter, who is taking part in the fundraising, said: "When November comes around, my mind goes straight to Movember every time I see a man with a moustache.
"Seeing so many people participate in Movember opens up the opportunity for men to discuss important issues like mental health and prostate and testicular cancer." "I'm thrilled to be raising awareness and funds for Movember with my amazing team. We're having fun creating chocolate mos and growing real ones," said Jon. "We believe in the joy baked goods bring to our lives with our handmade moustache chocolates doing just that - a bit tongue in cheek, totally delicious and helping to raise funds and awareness for an important cause taking on the biggest issues facing men's health.
