Popular Chinese restaurant reopens in new, larger location. Here’s what’s changed.

Jackrabbit Filly is now open with new cocktails and Chinese American food in North Charleston.

NORTH CHARLESTON — A popular restaurant from one of South Carolina’s newest Chef Ambassadors has reopened in a larger location near businesses like Stems & Skins and Commonhouse Aleworks. Jackrabbit Filly debuted at 1083 E. Montague Ave.

Dec. 31. The Chinese American restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday where Southern Roots Smokehouse served from 2017 to the beginning of 2024.



Jackrabbit Filly is now open with new cocktails and Chinese American food in North Charleston. The move from 4628 Spruill Ave. to the heart of Park Circle offered owners Shuai and Corrie Wang, who in 2023 opened King BBQ , more operating space with the added benefit of being closer to the action of the neighborhood.

“It just feels like everything we’ve always wanted,” Corrie Wang said. “It’s the first time we’ve been in a very prime location.” While its energetic but lighthearted atmosphere feels familiar, Jackrabbit Filly 2.

0 is not a carbon copy of the original. New items dot the midday and nighttime menus, and the drinks have been reimagined by Will Moscowitch, formerly of The Quinte. The renovated space is split in two, with the entryway feeding into a cozy bar area with high tops.

The new location of Jackrabbit Filly Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in North Charleston’s Park Circle. Larger groups can gather in the private dining room or seating area near the front window. Those tables are equipped with Lazy Susans , a staple of Chinese restaurants around the world.
