Scott Holden, 36, who runs the restaurant with his father-in-law, was "thrilled" to have been recognised alongside other popular brands in the industry. The restaurant, which first opened five years ago, can be found on Mill Road and quickly gained popularity thanks to the "relaxed environment" and "high quality food" it provides.
Alongside the Pizza Chef of the Year award, Scott's All Day also won the Futura Foods YAMAS! Greek Feta Category, Silbury Classic BBQ Sauce Category, and picked up an award at the National Pizza Awards for its Detroit-style pepperoni and hot honey pizza in the Blogger's Choice category. Mr Holden said: "We won a couple of awards last year and came into these awards feeling confident we would maybe win a category. But it was really overwhelming when they called my name.
I wasn't expecting it. I was just so thrilled. It was an amazing feeling when they said our name.
" For the PAPA Industry Awards, Mr Holden had to create a pizza using the ingredients sent to him for each category. The pizzas that made it to the final were cooked for a panel of judges, who would decide which pizza won in the categories. Mr Holden has worked in the hospitality industry for a long time but wanted to open his own restaurant to recreate some of the food he had eaten while living and travelling across the world.
He said: "I lived in London for quite a few years and then I lived in Vancouver and New York for a year each. I just wanted to bring a little bit of everywhere that I've travelled to Cambridge. I thought there was a little bit of a gap in the market for an all-day hip brunch restaurant.
" This pizza won in the Silbury Classic BBQ Sauce Category (Image: Scott's All Day) Scott's All Day is known for its Detroit-style pizzas but the dish wasn't originally on the menu. Mr Holden said: "We really wanted to do something a little bit different, something that would stand out, be unique, and that was more true to the American side of the restaurant. "Having lived in America, I knew that this style of pizza is so visually impactful.
There was a lot of development involved but when we got it right, we just knew it would be popular." The other award-winning pizza features Merguez sausage and feta whip (Image: Scott's All Day) Mr Holden recommends first-time visitors of the restaurant to try the award-winning Detroit-style pepperoni and hot honey pizza, which is available in the evening, or the Mill Road Full House Neapolitan-style pizza. He said: "I would say these dishes really nail home what we are trying to do like really good hearty food that's local.
" Aside from the "hearty" dishes, people regularly return to Scott's All Day thanks to the restaurant's atmosphere. Mr Holden added: "People love the restaurant because it has a casual vibe but we also do table service. I think we are trying to be a nice relaxed environment with really high quality food at the same time.
