The dress code for the party, held in Burford, in the Cotswolds, was ‘medieval folklore’. It was to celebrate the 43rd birthday of Archie and the 40th of his sister, Willa, scions of the multi-billion-pound Jardine Matheson empire. It was revealed in May that Poppy, 38, had started going out with Eton-educated Archie, an ex-boyfriend of Hollywood star Sienna Miller .

Poppy introduced her new boyfriend to her father, Charles, in June after the couple were spotted with the property developer, 74, at a smart restaurant in Notting Hill. She has modelled for the likes of Burberry and Marc Jacobs, graced the covers of various glossy magazines and is a successful business owner with a booming social calendar. But Poppy has said the ‘stigma’ of becoming a female divorcee held her back from leaving her businessman husband, James Cook, 44, who she was married to for eight years.

Speaking for the first time publicly about the split, reported in 2022, the 38-year-old said: ‘It should have probably ended earlier than it did, and I think one of the reasons why it didn't is because of that stigma, which is extraordinary. ‘I'm quite sad, actually, that we should feel that there's such a thing about it, that, god she's divorced, damaged goods, no one's going to want you. ‘Especially women in their late thirties who haven't had a baby .

.. It's not easy to make that kind of a decision.

It's not by any stretch.’ The couple were married in 2014 at a high-society London wedding with the likes of Trinny Woodall and Charlotte Tilbury in attendance at St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge. Reflecting on the relationship, Ms Delevingne said: ‘There is a lot of love and respect there. It just no longer worked for us.' 'I met him when I was 20 years old and 15 years is a long time and I think 15 years to be with someone is a success and sometimes these things just have to come to an end but even so within that, when it did end, that feeling, it was this sort of like bubbling up of freedom.

' 'And I think I've said this to you before, I felt sort of 20 all over again.’ Speaking for the first time publicly about the split, reported in 2022, the 38-year-old said: ‘It should have probably ended earlier than it did' (Poppy and James pictured in 2017) Since the split, Ms Delevinge dated Constantine Alexios, a Prince of Greece and Denmark 12 years her junior and has recently started dating Sienna Miller’s ex-boyfriend Archie. Meanwhile, Mr Cook was spotted with a new girlfriend last year and even brought her to an event his ex-wife was hosting for the sustainable prosecco brand, Della Vite, she started with her sisters Cara and Chloe in 2020.

Yet Ms Delevingne told the Origins With Cush Jumbo podcast that her label as a ‘socialite’ has ‘completely undermined anything of any worth that I’ve ever done.’ She said: ‘They want to take me down a peg or two and it's so frustrating because what even is that? What is a socialite?’ Share or comment on this article: Poppy Delevingne has found her knight in shining armour as she throws fancy dress party for her boyfriend after speaking out on the 'stigma' of becoming a female divorcee e-mail Add comment.
