'Poor' parking with blocked pavements was found during a police sting by school gates in Bedworth . Issues surrounding parking near to schools across Nuneaton and Bedworth is a hot topic. They are regular pleas made on social media for officers to carry out checks following reports of dangerous parking.

Members of Bedworth Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out school parking patrols around Race Leys Junior School. Team members described what they found - examples of 'poor' parking. This includes car being left blocking pavements and also parked on double yellow lines.



They found one car that had been left on yellow zig-zag lines. More could follow the team warned.

"Please park in a considerate manner when dropping off/picking up your children from school and park further away if there is nowhere appropriate to park nearby," the team said. People can report examples and footage of poor or dangerous parking to police via the Operation Snap online portal. The images are then looked at by the police.
