With the Dolphins only scoring four league goals all season, it was obvious to see that the Dolphins were in need of strengthening their attacking ranks. Following the FA Cup exit to Taunton Town on Saturday, manager Steve Tully acted quickly and decided to bring in a proven goalscorer at this level. The 29-year-old striker scored an impressive 28 goals in all competitions for Gosport Borough last season before signing for National League South side Salisbury in the summer.

Despite performing well in pre-season, after a lack of game time with the Salisbury, Ramos decided it was time to explore ventures new and has signed with Poole Town. The Portuguese striker also had spells with Hamworthy United and Bashley. After signing with the club, Ramos said: “I’m buzzing to be here, and I can’t wait to get going.

“I’m here to offer goals, flair and passion, that’s all it is.” Regarding the squad, Ramos added: “I know a few of them, I played with Harvey Slade and Billy (Lowes) at Bashley, and I know Antonio Diaz from last year at Gosport.” Looking ahead to the end of the season, Ramos discussed his personal ambitions and the aim of the club as he said: “The aim is to enjoy football again and score plenty of goals.

” Ramos added: “I want to get the team to where they want to be and that’s the playoffs and promotion.” Vice-chairman Andy Rossiter, who played a fundamental role in securing the deal, said: “Rafa is a player who has been of interest to the club for some time. “We only became aware of his availability over the weekend, so we are delighted to get this deal over the line so quickly.
