Southampton-based CBRE is marketing the historic site on behalf of BCP Council, of which the administration has said it can no longer afford to keep. Senior officers have said BCP Council has paid £2.5m in keeping the building since the merger of councils in 2019.
The civic centre has been unoccupied since 2022. The site is being marketed as available to buy three properties together or individually. This includes the former Poole Civic Centre, the multi-storey car park and the civic centre annex.
CBRE said in its brochure: “The site provides a rare opportunity to acquire a series of landmark buildings consisting of three properties with a combined area of c.4.42 acres and c.
247,814 sq.ft. (gross internal area).
” It added: “The multi-storey car park was constructed in c.1987 and has a prominent corner position facing Park Road and Commercial Road. Solar panels were added to the roof in 2014.
“The car park is no longer operational. It has a GIA of 108,757 across five levels. The plot extends to c.
1.30 acres.”.
