Mattie Bush-Martin and Taylor Martin got married near Paris’ Pont Neuf, one of the 37 bridges that span the Seine River in France’s capital. In Nashville, the Martins are known for Amelia’s Flowers , their flower delivery business with the 1960s delivery trucks and small, joyful flower shops. This month in L&L Market, the couple opened an homage to the Parisian landmark they love.
Pont Neuf is an after-hours wine, cocktail and flower bar that seats 45 people — both at communal tables and at the bar. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer reliable sunset views. “Our hope is that like with Amelia’s, Pont Neuf will offer an approachable environment that is comfortable for anyone to walk into, be greeted like a friend, and offered a service that is easily understood and enjoyed,” the Martins tell the Scene via email.
The vibe at Pont Neuf is one that encourages you sit and linger, like folks do at a European bar. “Be it what you taste, smell, see, touch or hear, Paris and other cities around the world all carry a timelessness from their history to current existence," the Martins say. "We hope everyone will find our space upholds a depth and hospitality like few others.
Paris means a lot to us for many reasons, but the driven yet unhurried demand for a good quality of life is something that we both really appreciate." The menu includes classic cocktails, craft beer, spritz options, nonalcoholic drinks and, of course, flowers. Wines are available both by the glass and by the bottle.
Snacks include sourdough with olive oil, Evie’s hummus with seasonal vegetables and a mixed candy dish. While you're sipping your cocktail, you can buy Amelia’s Flowers premade arrangements (such as the “Meet Cute” or the “Just Because”) or pick your own flowers, priced per stem as they are on the roving trucks, and create build-your-own bouquets at the VW Transporter truck within the bar . The team will wrap them and bring them to you in the bar.
Pont Neuf is open Wednesday through Sunday evenings..
