Multi-award-winning actor James Earl Jones, who voiced Darth Vader in the “Star Wars” film and TV franchise and Mufasa in “The Lion King,” has died. Jones, 93, died on Monday morning, according to his agent. The famed actor has appeared in more than 80 films.

His early acting career began in theatre and then he entered the film world with his earliest work, including the 1964 Stanley Kubrick film “Dr. Strangelove.” In 1967, he won a Tony Award for his role in the stage production of “The Great White Hope.



” A few years later, he reprised his role as heavyweight boxer Jack Jefferson in the film adaptation and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor. While he did not win the Oscar then, he received an honorary Academy Award in 2011. Over his career, he received three Tony Awards, two Emmy Awards and an Oscar, as well as a Grammy Award for for his role in “The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey.
