Policeman from Tun Musa’s security detail dies in motorcycle accident

Tun Musa (centre) presents a personal contribution to the widow of the late Corporal Azfar.KOTA KINABALU (Apr 15): A policeman assigned to the security detail of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman died after a motorcycle accident involving a pick-up truck at Kampung Laya Laya along Jalan Sulaman in Tuaran on Monday.Corporal Azfar Arshad, 33, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of Queen Elizabeth I Hospital at 5.

23am on Tuesday.It is understood that Azfar, who was stationed at the Istana Negeri, was riding his motorcycle from Tuaran to work when the collision occurred.In a Facebook post, Tun Musa expressed his condolences, stating that he had paid his last respects to the late corporal and met with the grieving family before departing for Kuala Lumpur to attend the funeral of the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.



Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun described Azfar’s passing as a loss to the state police contingent.Azfar’s remains were taken to Masjid Al-Falah in Mengkabong, Tuaran, for funeral prayers before being laid to rest at the Muslim cemetery in Kampung Mengkabong.The post Policeman from Tun Musa’s security detail dies in motorcycle accident appeared first on Borneo Post Online.
