Police investigating a series of burglaries and thefts in Astley Bridge have made an arrest. Numerous residents contacted the police over vehicle and burglary-related offences on and around April 2, sparking the investigation. Neighbourhood police officers said they carried out a thorough investigation and secured the arrest of a 31-year-old man on suspicion of 14 offences, including theft and burglary.
He remains in custody for questioning. Sergeant Thomas Bayliss, from GMP’s Bolton Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “Burglaries and thefts can feel like very personal crimes and we are absolutely dedicated to investigating them to the best of our ability. “Within days of launching our investigation, we were able to secure the arrest of a man on suspicion of various offences, and he remains in custody for questioning. “I hope that this shows our commitment to keeping the streets of Bolton safe and securing arrests where we can.
