Wootler said that law and order should be maintained throughout the season, and called on students, parents, elders, and past pupils to enjoy the tradition safely and respectfully. “We all know that vehicle processions are a very common tradition during the Big Match season, but we have had very bitter experiences in the past which have led to deaths and significant property damage,” ASP Wootler said. “The police is ready to ensure law and order, and we will take stern action against those who engage in unlawful behavior.
” ASP Wootler said that the Police will enforce provisions under the Police Ordinance and the Motor Traffic Act to hold accountable those responsible for traffic violations and disturbances. He called on school organizers to work with the Officer-In-Charge of their local police stations to ensure all arrangements are in place for a smooth and safe Big Match season. The Acting Police Spokesman called on all involved parties—especially students, elders, and past pupils—to respect the spirit of the event and uphold the values of their alma mater.
