Police step up patrols after teenager injured in assault

Police have stepped up patrols in Darwen after a 16-year-old boy was injured in an assault.

Officers were made aware of an 'altercation' on Railway Road at around 6.15pm on Sunday (April 13) between a number of teenagers and a 16-year-old boy, resulting in him being assaulted. Officers also said they are aware of a video of the incident being shared on social media and have asked that people refrain from sharing it. However, those who recognise anybody in the video should contact the police as soon as possible. A police spokesperson said: "We have a dedicated team of officers assigned to this case, and although it is being treated as an isolated incident we have increased reassurance patrols in the area.
