Police smash through house door to arrest gang 'taking over home of vulnerable person'

Officers forced their way into the house and arrested four people in the living room

Police officers smashed through a front door before arresting a number of people in connection with drugs offences. Four men have been charged after concerns about a gang taking over the home of a vulnerable person. Police were alerted to an ongoing incident in Braintree on March 23.

Officers from across the force arrived at the scene and forced entry to the home. They quickly located four people of interest in the living room area. All were arrested and a number of electrical items and almost £3,000 in cash were seized.

A complex and fast-paced investigation then took place whilst the men remained in custody. Tarron Azille, 24, of no fixed address, Musadik Ahmed, 22, of Parnell Road, London, E3, Azhar Ahmed, 22, of Whitethorn Street, London, Greater London, E3, and James Everett, 23, of Harpley Square, London, E1, are all charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

All four are due in Chelmsford Crown Court for a plea hearing on 22 April. Safeguarding measures have now been put in place for the vulnerable victim by our prepare, prevent and protect team. Detective Sergeant Jonathan Stephenson said: “The pace at which this investigation had to be progressed in order to keep a vulnerable person safe should not be underestimated.

"It’s often said that policing isn’t a nine-to-five job – and, as this shows, it really isn’t. Officers from a number of teams came together incredibly quickly to ensure we had an immediate response to this ongoing incident. "We don’t tolerate the supply of drugs in Essex – or the exploitation that we very sadly see running alongside it and we’ve got teams working round-the-clock to make sure the people we believe to be involved are arrested and put before the courts.
