The dog was relocated. Officers provided traffic control for downed phone lines in White Salmon on Oct. 8.

13 - 19 The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Criminal mischief (one), DUII (two), harassment (one), ordinance violation (one), theft (one), unlawful entry into motor vehicle (one), warrant (one). Notable incidents Three theft reports. Bicycle worth $500, shoplifting and employee theft.
Two DUII arrests. In one incident, a Stevenson resident was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. In another incident, officers responded to a call of a car traveling across the Hood River Bridge with airbags deployed, on rims, and missing a front bumper.
During a subsequent traffic stop, officers arrested the driver on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. Two unlawful entry into motor vehicle arrests. In one incident, officers arrested and lodged two adult people at NORCOR on the charges of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and criminal mischief III.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury crash near the intersection of May and 18th streets. Officers cited an individual for urinating in public. A vandalism report.
An unattended death. The Dalles Police, Oct. 18 - 25 The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Assault (one), charges not logged (one), DUII (one), criminal mischief (two), theft (three), trespass (one), unlawful possession of methamphetamine (one), violation of restraining order (two), warrant (five).
Notable incidents Forty-one animal calls. Dogs at large, dog being menacing, complaint about number of deer being hit by cars, allegations of animal neglect or abuse, barking dogs, dog hit by car, aggressive dogs, someone offering free puppy. In one incident, an officer took four squad of four at-large puppies from Bret Clodfelter Way to an animal shelter.
Eleven theft reports. Shoplifting (four), personal items and checks worth $4,500, $400 scope, truck containing $60 pallets, aluminum ladder and LED lights from mural behind Bohn’s, tools from truck. In one incident, a vehicle towed by a camper was broken into.
In another, a customer was arrested for third-degree theft after taking $16 of alcohol from a store. One person was cited for third-degree theft in relation to an incident at Coastal. Two possible overdoses logged.
Narcan was administered to a drug overdose patient near Lone Pine in lieu site. They were transported to an area hospital. Separately, narcan was administered to a 36-year-old patient on Seventh Street, who was transported by Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue (MCFR).
A DUII arrest. Staff at a Sixth-Street drive-thru reported serving an intoxicated driver. Law enforcement responded and arrested the driver on charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Officers provided traffic control for a fire neat Tenth and Dry Hollow. One vehicle was off the road, fully involved, on Oct. 19.
A vehicle crash report. A Mitsubishi and a Ford F150 crashed on West Second and Webber, requiring a tow on Oct. 19.
MCFR also responded. A reporting party’s vehicle window was broken using a chunk of concrete, and items moved around inside, on Second Street. A fraud report for a fake $20 used for a liquor purchase on Mt.
Hood Street. MCFR was called for an accidental gunshot to the foot on Chinook Street. Four mental health calls.
A reporting party’s Harris-Walz sign on Sixth Street was spray painted, again. The suspect left a spray can at the scene, the owner said. The police department’s front door was “completely shattered,” according to an officer.
The suspect was arrested and lodged on charge of criminal mischief I. Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle was reported on Court. A burglary report.
A shed on Second Street was entered and tools missing. A motor vehicle crash report. A hit-and-run report from Sixth Street on Oct.
24. A fake $20 bill was received on Sixth Street, after a customer attempted to use it to play the lottery. A dumpster fire was put out on Mt.
Hood Street on Oct. 24. A person was arrested on multiple charges including probably cause for robbery and theft after allegedly assaulting a Mt.
Hood Street location’s staff while draped in a purple shirt “like a cape.” Wasco County Sheriff, Oct. 18 - 24 Notable incidents Three mental health calls.
Deputies logged 38 vehicle stops. A hit-and-run logged. Highway 30 Two alleged gunshots logged.
Whitman Court, Chinook Street. Six dogs, three other animals. Two vehicle crashes logged.
Rowena, I-84. A theft logged on Mill Creek Road. A vehicle stop on Cherry Heights became a weapons violation log.
A warrant on West Tenth Street. An ID theft report. A fraud incident logged on Highway 30.
Oregon State Police, Oct. 18 - 23 The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: DUII (one), fail to report as a sex offender (one). Notable incidents Three non-injury crash reports.
A Honda accord left its lane on I-84 and hit the median, then crossed both westbound lanes and struck a Freightliner semi-truck before coming to rest on the shoulder. Two concrete median sections were displaced. A Gilliam County deputy arrested the Honda’s driver for DUII; both vehicles towed.
Separately, a Honda hit a deer on Highway 97 and needed a tow. In a third incident, a Hundai Entourage and Subaru Forester collided at Biggs Junction, Highway 97 and I-84. The Hyundai’s driver reported running a red light and was cited.
No injuries were reported but the Subaru’s driver was transported by ambulance for evaluation. Troopers conducted a sex offender sweep, attempting to locate multiple out-of-compliance sex offenders in The Dalles since last weekend. Charges for most were forwarded to the district attorney.
A Ram pickup caught fire while eastbound on I-84, near milepost 72 on Oct. 22. The driver exited into the Memaloose Rest Area, and both occupants escaped the Ram before fire engulfed it.
Multiple fire extinguishers were used, and kept the fire subdued until fire apparatus came. The flames began spreading to surrounding landscape, but fire personnel were able to contain it. The passenger reported the Ram was recently worked on; the engine light came on, they lost power, then the Ram caught fire.
It was towed. MCFR, Mosier Fire, Forest Service Fire and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) also responded. A commercial vehicle crashed on Highway 97, injuring the driver on Oct.
22. The red cab truck and trailer was northbound when the driver said they felt it hit a bump — then begin to wobble, before leaving the road and striking a tree. The 43-year-old driver was transported to a Madras hospital.
Property damage included a barbwire fence and minor damage to guardrail. The driver got two warnings, the truck needed towed..
