Hood River Police, Oct. 20 - 26 The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: DUII (one), intoxicants (two), trespass (one), unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (two), warrant (two). Notable incidents Two DUII arrests.
In one incident, a resident of Portland was arrested on charges of DUII - controlled substance and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. In the same incident, a Vancouver resident was also arrested on charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Two warrant arrests.
In one incident, a Carson resident was cited and released for two Clackamas County warrants. Two hit-and-run reports. Locations were Thirteenth near Taylor Street, and 22nd near May Street.
At least one was a parked vehicle. Two non-injury vehicle crashes. In one incident, a semi-truck merged from the fast to slow lane on I-84 westbound, striking a passing vehicle.
The other two-vehicle crash happened Oct. 23. Items were stolen from a vehicle.
Officers cited and released just one person for criminal trespass. A hotel reported burglary involving a maintenance shed. Officers responded to an unattended death at a supported housing facility.
The Dalles Police, Oct. 25 - Nov. 1 The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Assault (two), charge not logged (one), disorderly conduct (three), harassment (one), no contact order violation (one), mischief (one), restraining order violation (two), theft (two), trespass (five), warrant (six).
Notable incidents Three mental health calls. Twenty-six animal calls. Barking dogs, at-large dogs, vehicle hit raccoon, three-month-old ducks retrieved in civil standby, cats, allegation of animal neglect.
In one incident, a dog attacked a deer on West 10th and Cherry Heights. The deer died; the medium brown dog then injured another deer, before running up West 13th. A vehicle was egged.
Twelve theft reports. Unspecified (three), fake $20 bill, stolen vehicle, pressure washer, items from trailers on Seventh resulting in multiple reports of theft and criminal mischief, wallet, bike, equipment from work truck on Lone Pine Drive, license plate, phone. A Lifeflight was called, then canceled for a patient after a one-vehicle crash near on Highway 97, near Celilo Village, on Oct.
26. The vehicle was reported “completely smashed,” the driver absent and another person entrapped. OSP and MCFR also responded.
A hit-and-run report. A vehicle struck the guardrail on I-84 westbound — because it was pushed off the road by an orange pickup, which then left the scene. After an alleged felony assault in The Dalles, the male suspect left with two children of 10 months and 3 years.
They were last reported in Lewisville. Polk County was given this information. MCFR and WCSO also responded, searching local hotels.
A person entered a River Road building, and became so aggressive that three employees pinned them to the floor. The suspect was arrested on unspecified charges. Wasco County Sheriff, Oct.

An assault on Webber. Two unlawful entries into motor vehicles on West 13th. A fraud logged on Highway 30.
Oregon State Police, Oct. 25 - Nov. 1 The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Disorderly conduct (one), DUII (one), hunting with aid of motor vehicle (one), probation violation (one), reckless driving (one), take/possession of buck deer (one), warrant (one).
Notable incidents An injury crash. A commercial vehicle was disabled on US-97, on the Sam Hill Memorial Bridge, blocking northbound lanes. Traffic began to back up, and a blue Ford Flex, going 50 mph, rear-ended a gray Ford F-150.
Both vehicles were damaged — and so was the Flex’s driver, who was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and given a citation. An angler was cited for taking fish in a closed area after catching a wild Coho on Eagle Creek, after a trooper observed a fish-blood stained cooler in their truck. A companion was cited for angling in a closed area, the Coho seized for donation.
Multiple calls described a person in dark clothing and a furry hood, standing in I-84 lanes of travel. Troopers responded; the intoxicated person was lodged at NORCOR on charges of disorderly conduct and probation violation, where they showed a blood-alcohol level of exactly 0.08%.
One DUII arrest, after small black car sped from its lane into a rock wall beside I-84. The only occupant told troopers who responded to this report that the driver had left the scene; however, due to evidence on scene, they were determined to be the driver and given two citations. Fish and Wildlife troopers placed a false buck deer in the White River Unit.
A vehicle stopped, and the 29-year-old driver shot the false deer out the passenger window. The vehicle was stopped and, after investigation, two criminal citations were issued for take/possession of buck deer - WED closed season and hunting with aid of a motor vehicle, and another for open container of alcohol; a rifle was seized as evidence. Three non-injury crashes.
A trooper responded to a single-vehicle crash blocking I-84’s fast lane near milepost 51 westbound. A white Toyota Scion lost control after hydroplaning on water, spun round, hit the median and came to rest facing the wrong direction. The driver got one citation.
Separately, a pickup struck the guardrail and median on I-84 near milepost 81 westbound, damaging four uprights and two median sections. The unoccupied pickup was towed. In a third incident, a trooper located a gray Kia Sorento about 40 feet off I-84, suspended in a deep culvert near milepost 74 eastbound.
The driver was located by InterTribe walking toward The Dalles and given a courtesy ride. Their vehicle was towed. The driver of a semi-truck hauling a FEMA trailer reported all of their tires on one side blew out, disabling the vehicle and blocking the lane.
