Drivers were left startled after travelling along the busy motorway to see a cyclist travelling on the carriageway . One eyewitness said the cyclist “was getting told off by police,” after it was reported a man had been seen cycling near Whiteley and then Fareham on the M27.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said officers “helped the cyclist leave the area”, after being called to attend the incident.
