Police: Man made child abuse images

TOLEDO — A Greenup man was arrested Wednesday after a search of his home turned up "several thousand digital images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material on several devices," authorities said.

William A. Williams, 49, is charged Cumberland County Circuit Court with five counts of production of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. According to a news release, Illinois Attorney General's Office investigators, with the assistance of the Cumberland County Sheriff 's Office and the Greenup Police Department, conducted a search of Williams' residence in the 1600 block of County Road 1050N in Greenup on Aug.

28, during which the images and videos were found. Williams also is charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine and possession of meth manufacturing material. The charges were filed Illinois Attorney General's Office as part of ongoing eff orts to work with federal and local law enforcement agencies to apprehend off enders who download and trade child sexual abuse images online.



Williams is being held in the Cumberland County jail until his detention hearing on Sept. 3..
