Later, it turned out that the shooting in which he was wounded took place on the corner of Papsouwselaan and Westlandseweg. The officers then saw two men walking, one of whom matched the suspect's description. As the fleeing suspects were possibly armed, the officers drew their weapons, and one of them fired a shot.

The suspects, a 28-year-old man from Delft and a 56-year-old man of no known residence, were detained for questioning. During their escape, the men seemed to have thrown away some narcotics. These were seized for the investigation.
