New Delhi: The South-East District Police launched " Operation Bullet Raja " on New Year's Eve, targeting bikers using modified silencers and performing stunts in Jamia Nagar. The operation resulted in 35 bikers being booked under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. The offenders were penalised for creating noise pollution and endangering public safety with their reckless actions.
Police personnel were deployed across residential areas, high-footfall zones, and major roads to ensure smooth traffic management and prevent disturbances. "A special drive was conducted at entry and exit points to deter anti-social elements, with a focus on curbing dangerous behaviours such as stunt riding and driving under the influence of alcohol," a senior police officer said. In addition to "Operation Bullet Raja," the police undertook extensive preventive measures to uphold public safety.
Legal action was taken against 673 individuals detained under Section 65 of the DP Act, 131 vehicles seized under Section 66 of the DP Act, and 93 individuals booked under the Excise Act. Surveillance was also conducted on 123 bootleggers and habitual offenders to monitor their activities and prevent potential disruptions.
