VANCOUVER, Wash. — Days after a duo appeared in Clark County court for a string of Oregon and Washington bank robberies , police are investigating a possible third suspect, who has been arrested for three robberies in Vancouver. On Saturday, Vancouver, Clark County and Battle Ground police served a warrant at a Battle Ground residence, resulting in the arrest of 44-year-old Bryan Russell Vaughan Duke.
Vaughan Duke, according to the Vancouver Police Department, is linked to robberies at three Umpqua Bank locations in Vancouver; the robberies occurred Sept. 13, Oct. 17 and Oct.
25. Vaughan Duke was booked into Clark County Jail on three counts of first-degree robbery. Police said more charges will likely be added and are investigating a "possible connection" with the Oregon and Washington robberies.
Earlier this month, 31-year-old Andrew Bekma and 28-year-old Amira "Sage" Askew were charged with first-degree robbery after confessing to an Umpqua Bank robbery on Northeast 134th Street in Vancouver; they're suspected to be involved in other bank robberies in the Vancouver and Portland metro area dating back to June 2024. On Thursday, the judge set bail for Askew at $150,000 and $100,000 for Bekman. Bekman has a warrant for his arrest out of Clackamas County for an unlawful possession of methamphetamine and prostitution charges.
Askew has a bench warrant for her arrest out of Clackamas County for a charge of assaulting a public safety officer. KGW's Alex Jenson and Devon Haskins contributed to the reporting of this story..
