Police arrest alleged road rage driver, seize items from roadside stabbing

A knife was seized which police allege was used in the incident.

A Florey man already subject to a good behaviour order will face court on Tuesday charged with allegedly stabbing another man during a road rage incident in Franklin last weekend. 45pm and 2.10pm on Sunday when a grey Subaru Liberty pulled in behind a black Mitsubishi Lancer on Flemington Road, Mitchell. Police believe the drivers of the two vehicles then began "interacting" while driving north on Flemington Road.



This continued for some time until eventually both vehicles stopped on Nullarbor Avenue in Franklin. Both drivers left their vehicles, and police allege that in the altercation between the pair which followed, the driver of the Mitsubishi received a stab wound to the chest. The victim was driven to hospital and police were notified about the incident.

Picture by Karleen Minney On Monday afternoon, police executed a search warrant on the 29-year-old man's residence in Florey. During the search warrant, police located a number of items which they believe were linked to the incident, including clothing, a knife and blood on the Subaru.

The alleged offender faces charges of intentional wounding and breaching his good behaviour order. Any motorists who may have seen the two cars or drivers in Mitchell or Franklin that afternoon, or may have dash-cam footage of what occurred, is urged to contact police.
