POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 60s was killed in a crash near Blakedown. The collision happened around 9pm last night (Tuesday March 11) on the A456 Birmingham Road when a grey Audi A1 collided with a silver VW Golf. The driver of the Audi, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene, between Broome Lane and Blakedown.
A man in his 70s who was driving the Golf was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries. Firefighters gave the Audi driver CPR and medics took over, but he couldn't be saved. Two women were also taken to hospital.
