More security measures are in place to address crimes, crowded terminals, and election threats during the period of summer vacations, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Thursday. In a statement, the PNP said it will implement a strategy on increasing police visibility, intensifying patrol operations, and enhancing coordination with other government agencies and local governments. PNP’s intensified mobilization for summer vacation runs from April 1 to May 31, 2025.
Police assistance desks will be set up strategically in transport hubs, tourist spots, and major event venues to provide immediate response to the public, the PNP said. To prevent crimes, the PNP said law enforcement operations will be intensified as well as the security inspections and intelligence monitoring on critical infrastructures, transport terminals, and churches. Road safety measures will be enforced strictly to ease congestion and prevent vehicular accidents with the help of traffic management agencies.
The PNP advised the public to take necessary precautions like securing their homes before leaving for vacation, being mindful of their surroundings, and following safety guidelines in crowded places. According to the PNP, emergency hotlines and police assistance numbers will remain active for any concerns that require immediate attention. “As we welcome Summer Vacation 2025, the PNP is fully prepared to ensure the safety of our people.
Our law enforcement officers will be on the ground, working tirelessly to keep our communities secure,” PNP chief Police General Rommel Marbil said. “We urge the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with authorities, and immediately report any suspicious activities. By working together, we can make this summer safe and enjoyable for everyone,” he added.
Aside from these, the PNP also noted that threat groups and criminal elements may attempt to disrupt peace and order as the summer vacation coincides with the election campaign period, election day, and the proclamation of winners. —VAL, GMA Integrated News.
