PM Modi meets top tech CEOs Jensen Huang, Sundar Pichai, others in the US

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a clear vision in terms of the opportunity that artificial intelligence (AI) will create and he is challenging companies like Google to do more in India, Sundar Pichai , chief executive officer of Alphabet and Google said. "We're robustly investing in AI in India and we look forward to doing more with several partnerships and programmes with MeitY, the agriculture and health ministries, the central and state governments, and we look forward to doing more in India," said Pichai conclusion of a meeting where Modi interacted with technology industry leaders in New York on Monday in a roundtable organised by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), School of Engineering. Post the meeting Huang said, "India is home to some of the world's greatest computer scientists. This is a great opportunity. AI is also a new industry, a new manufacturing industry that is very important.



I am looking forward to partnering with India in a very deep way to make that possible. We have many partnerships with India." He added that AI has democratised computing.

He is really thinking of how AI can transform India in a way that benefits the people of India. He challenged us to think about applications in healthcare, education, and agriculture, and he's also thinking about infrastructure of India be it data centres, power, or energy, and investing in India so that India can transition." The CEOs participated in a deep dive with the Prime Minister on the evolving technology landscape at a global level and how these cutting-edge technologies are contributing to the well-being of people around the world including in India.

They touched upon how technology is being leveraged for innovations, which have the potential to revolutionise the global economy and human development..
