Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of indulging in appeasement politics. Addressing a public gathering in Hisar on the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary, PM Modi challenged Congress to back its pro-Muslim stance by appointing a Muslim as its party president and offering 50% of election tickets to Muslim candidates. "If you have so much sympathy for Muslims, then why not make a Muslim the party president? Why not give 50% of tickets to Muslims?" he questioned, in a direct jibe at the opposition.
PM Modi also criticised Congress for opposing the recently amended Waqf Act, calling it the “biggest proof” of the party's “evil policy of appeasement.” He said the amended act would prevent the Waqf Board from interfering with tribal land and property, thus safeguarding the rights of tribal communities. Also Read: Related News | 'Two-Nation Theory Not Decision of Common Muslim But.

This is true social justice,” he said. He went on to accuse Congress of using the Constitution merely as a tool for political gains. “Whenever Congress felt power slipping from its hands, it trampled on the Constitution—just like it did during the Emergency,” Modi alleged.
