ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair a review meeting today on the existing power tariff for domestic consumers and is expected to announce a major relief for domestic electricity con-sumers. The prime minister before Eid had made a commitment that masses will be given relief in power tariff in the coming days. Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari told The Nation on phone that he and his team have been working hard to make the relief package which he said would be discussed in the meeting scheduled for today.
He, however, said it would be discretion of the prime minister to what extent he would approve the relief for consumers. The minister said that he will make a comprehensive presentation during the meeting on the existing power tariffs. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after getting presentation will make the announcement in reducing power tariffs for domestic consumers in the presence of party leaders and media at 2PM at the PM Secretariat.
