BANGKOK, April 18 — Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said on Friday that he urged Myanmar’s junta leader to stop the ongoing conflict in the war-torn country to enable humanitarian efforts following a devastating earthquake late last month that killed thousands. Besides his meeting with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in Bangkok on Thursday, Anwar said he also spoke on Friday with Myanmar’s shadow administration — the National Unity Government — as part of regional efforts to engage all parties in the conflict. Anwar is currently the chair of the 10-member Asean bloc.
