A major incident is unfolding in Plymouth with reports that a young girl has been stabbed. Rumours are swirling online as police confirm there has been a "serious assault". Police have not confirmed how many victims there are but one local, who goes by @ParamedicEm on Twitter, tweeted to say: "Awful what’s going on in Plymouth.
Thoughts with the victims and my colleagues who are having to deal with it all." Emergency services have rushed to the scene. Reports on social media say a major incident is underway and there are "more than 10 police cars" in the vicinity of West Hoe Road, according to PlymouthLive.
@BeaglePlymouth tweeted saying "it feels like every police officer on duty tonight in Plymouth is here", and that someone was seen being given CPR. A member of staff at the nearby West Hoe pub said there was a lot of police "just down the road". The ambulance service's "incident response unit" is also at the scene.
