Plemons Rumored For “Star Wars” Villain

Jesse Plemons (“Civil War,” “Zero Day,” “Killers of the Flower Moon”) reportedly “has the offer” for the role of the lead villain in the new “Star Wars” film being directed by “Free Guy” and “Deadpool and Wolverine” helmer Shawn Levy at Disney and Lucasfilm.DanielRPK reported the scoop which follows on from a report last week that “Killing Eve” and “The Last Duel” star Jodie Comer is in talks to join the project as well. If true, they would join previously announced three-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling in the project.

Kathleen Kennedy, Shawn Levy and Jonathan Tropper will produce, with filming to take place in the UK later this year.Plemons has recently also been rumored to take on a younger version of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Plutarch Heavensbee role in the upcoming prequel film “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”. That project begins shooting in July.

Plemons was rumored to be in the running to play Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” prior to Adam Driver scoring the part. The actor has both Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Bugonia” and Alejandro G. Inarritu’s new film on the way.
