By Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos The Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its decision to boycott the upcoming local government election rerun scheduled for Saturday. The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) planned the rerun in areas where elections were not held due to a shortage of materials. In a statement by the APC’s acting Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi, the party instructed its supporters to avoid participating in the rerun.

The APC accused PLASIEC and the Plateau State government of disregarding democratic principles and the people’s will. The party criticised PLASIEC for describing the previous election as free and fair while organising a rerun in select wards.
