The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has said it has discovered a sinister plan to create chaos and confusion within the party, ahead of the October 9, 2024, Local Government elections. In a press statement issued in Jos on Monday by the Acting Publicity Secretary of the APC, Hon. Shittu Bamaiyi said according to reliable sources, a group calling themselves “foundation members” is orchestrating the plot, aimed at misinforming the public about the party’s internal affairs.
He disclosed that the group plans to address a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. “The APC views the group’s actions as an attempt to create artificial divisions within the party, undermining its cohesion and strength. The party emphasizes that all members enjoy equal recognition and respect, with no differentiation.
“We suspect that some individuals are unhappy with our ongoing reconciliatory efforts and are seeking to sabotage our progress,” said Shittu Bamaiyi, Acting Publicity Secretary. The Statement added that intelligence gathered suggests that the group’s primary objective is to disrupt the party’s preparations for the local government elections, slated for October 9, 2024. The APC urges its members to remain calm and resolute, disregarding any misinformation from the group.
